Name: IMB from VA
Subject: Gateway for Christianity
The Sicilians of Italy are located on the island of Sicily, off the southwest coast of the Italian mainland. Sicily divides the Mediterranean into two distinct parts--east and west--effectively forming both a gateway and a barrier. The island has been ruled by Europeans, Africans and Asians, and these influences have created a melting pot of people who are distinctly Sicilian. Catholicism has contributed to Sicilian culture, and although most Sicilians no longer practice that religion, Catholic traditions continue to influence their society. With a population of more than 5 million, Sicilians have Gospel recordings in their language, but they do not have written Scripture, the “JESUS” film, or radio broadcasts in Sicilian. The Sicilian population is less than 2 percent evangelical Christian. Pray that Christian materials will be developed in the Sicilian language. Ask the Father to remove the barriers that are keeping Sicilians from embracing the Truth. Pray that this island will become a gateway for Christianity to spread to other nations and peoples. http://imb.org/main/pray/

If you want to let IMB know you're praying for their request, send a postcard email. IMB will receive a note saying "I'm praying for your request" and a Bible verse.
